Explore & produce, in Chad

EnerTchad aims to take over the mature fields and marginal blocks of the Doba and Bongor basins: frugal production, designed for reservoirs the large operators leave behind. An agile approach, where value remains to be captured in-country. (ambition · company in formation)

The playing field, documented: seven sedimentary basins and a 2025 cadastre with 38 open blocks — mapped, with dated public sources, in the sector Atlas.

Mature fields

Taking over and optimising declining fields — where every additional barrel counts.

Learn more
  • Target: declining fields of the Doba and Bongor basins.
  • Higher recovery factor through EOR with local inputs.
  • Progressive take-over, at the pace of capital raises.
Use case · cost reduction

Challenge — The mature fields of Doba and Bongor are declining and the large operators are stepping away.

Integrated answer — Frugal take-over coupled with local-input EOR, at the pace of capital raised.

Targeted gainAdditional barrels captured from fields deemed end-of-life

Marginal blocks

Re-assessing blocks the majors deem too small: a target portfolio suited to an agile structure.

Learn more
  • Blocks deemed unprofitable by the large operators.
  • A frugal model suited to small volumes.
  • Consortium set-ups on the open blocks of the registry.
Use case · cost reduction

Challenge — Blocks deemed too small by the majors remain unexploited.

Integrated answer — An agile model and consortium set-ups on the open blocks of the registry.

Targeted gainA right-sized portfolio, where value remains to be captured

Seismic & subsurface

Characterising the reservoir before investing: data, models and geological de-risking.

Learn more
  • Re-interpretation of existing public data.
  • Targeted acquisition where uncertainty is high.
  • Geological models to de-risk before committing.
Use case · cost reduction

Challenge — Investing without characterising the reservoir exposes you to geological failure.

Integrated answer — Re-interpretation of public data, then targeted seismic where uncertainty is high.

Targeted gainA de-risked commitment decision before any heavy spending

Take-over & re-entry

Rehabilitating existing wells and completions: fast production at lower capital.

Learn more
  • Rehabilitation of wells and completions in place.
  • Fast production at low initial capital.
  • Integrity diagnostic before any return to service.
  • Crude captured from day one of service: specialised “frac tank” containers on bunds — spill protection, first barrels monetised instead of burnt.
Use case · cost reduction

Challenge — Drilling new wells is costly and takes years.

Integrated answer — Rehabilitation of existing wells and completions after an integrity diagnostic.

Targeted gainProduction restarted fast, at low initial capital

Frugal production

Solar-gas site power, lean operations — lowering the technical cost per barrel.

Learn more
  • Hybrid solar-gas site power.
  • Lean, automated operations, reduced technical cost.
  • Routine flaring avoided (target) — controlled footprint.
Use case · cost reduction

Challenge — The technical cost per barrel weighs down the profitability of small volumes.

Integrated answer — Hybrid solar-gas site power and lean automated operations.

Targeted gainTechnical cost lowered · routine flaring avoided (target)

Local content

Chadian subcontracting, talent and inputs prioritised on every upstream worksite.

Learn more
  • Priority to Chadian companies and talent.
  • Inputs sourced in-country whenever possible.
  • Skills transfer through Tchaditude.
Use case · cost reduction

Challenge — The rent and the know-how leave the country too often.

Integrated answer — Priority to Chadian companies and talent, transfer through Tchaditude.

Our method

From data to first barrel: the six-step journey

Every field or block take-over follows the same disciplined path — each step only starts if the previous one has held its numbers.

Step 1

Data & registry

Inventory of public data, open blocks of the registry, well histories: mapping what exists before spending.

Step 2

Geological model

Seismic re-interpretation, static reservoir model, volume estimates: turning uncertainty into quantified ranges.

Step 3

Frugal development plan

Staged scenarios: re-entries first, new wells next, EOR last. Each stage is funded by the previous one.

Step 4

Staged financing

Capital raises aligned with technical milestones; consortiums on open blocks to share risk and initial outlay.

Step 5

Integrated OFS execution

Our eight oilfield services mobilised under a single contract — from site earthworks to first production.

Step 6

Instrumented production & EOR

Telemetry, nodal analysis, then local-input enhanced recovery as decline sets in: +8–17% of OOIP targeted.

Work with us

Four partnership frames, one same care for the useful barrel.

E&P operator, block holder or technical partner: EnerTchad — a company in formation — offers graduated engagement frames, from a simple services contract to an equity stake, always within the Chadian Petroleum Code and the permits in force.

01

Services contract (OFS)

Lump-sum or schedule-of-rates work on your wells and facilities — wireline, workover, maintenance, logistics. The fastest frame to put in place, with commitments on availability and lead times.

02

Study protocol & EOR pilot

Data access under NDA, process screening in your reservoir data, design then execution of a pilot measured in additional barrels. The technical way in.

03

Farm-in / equity stake

Minority interest in marginal blocks or mature fields, when the study demonstrates the potential — progressive equity build-up and shared governance.

04

Consortium & grouping

Local set-up with operators, oilfield-services companies and the academy to answer tenders and multi-well campaigns — local content documented contract by contract.

For a first internal review: download the Exploration & Production technical sheet (PDF, 4 pages) — EOR approach, OFS catalogue and contract models — then write to us (subject “E&P operator”).
