The digital field: four layers, from valve to decision-maker.
A modern oil field produces two streams: barrels and data. EnerTchad designs the second with as much care as the first — a four-layer architecture, from sensor to dashboard, built for isolated sites and hosted in-country.
On a mature field revived through EOR, every additional barrel is won one setting at a time: an injection pressure, a chemical dosage, a pump growing tired. Those decisions demand the one thing isolated fields almost never have: reliable, fresh, auditable data. That is the digital field’s job — and EnerTchad drew it before its first well, in four layers.
L1 — the field: sensors that tolerate Chad
Everything starts at the valve: sensors and controllers on site (OPC-UA, Modbus, MQTT), with local computing and a 30-day buffer. The design constraint is not elegance — it is Chadian reality: heat, dust, intermittent satellite links, frugal maintenance. A site must keep running — and recording — even cut off from the world, then resynchronise without losing a single measurement.
L2 — the data: a lakehouse hosted in-country
Streams flow up, under contract, to a data warehouse hosted in-country: raw → refined → decision zones, full traceability and audit "time-travel" — the field’s state can be replayed at any date, from measurement to decision. It is the industrial extension of the principle set by the Atlas: Chadian data stays in Chad, governed by Chadian rules.
L3 — the AI: models that work through the night
On that foundation, models do what crews cannot do alone: predictive maintenance (catching the tiring pump before it fails), anomaly detection on metering and integrity, yield optimisation for mini-refineries run 24/7. Every model lives in a registry with drift monitoring — industrial AI is governed like equipment, not like a gadget.
L4 — the decision: the twin and the dashboard
At the top, the digital twin: the field’s virtual replica, fed by its real data, where you simulate before you act — an EOR dosage change, a planned shutdown, a water-circuit scenario. And the decision-maker’s dashboard, showing the same figure the sensor measured, with no opaque reprocessing in between.
A field that does not measure, guesses. A field that measures, decides.
Sovereign, not solitary
Sovereignty does not mean isolation: for SCADA, instrumentation and OT cybersecurity, EnerTchad will work with the world’s industrial-automation experts — Honeywell, Siemens and their peers — on proven standards, sized for our terrain. OT/IT cybersecurity is native, not bolted on: security by design, from field protocol to control room.
As with everything we publish: EnerTchad is a company in formation, and the digital field described here is a target architecture — detailed on the TchadiTech Technologies page, alongside our 2030 targets. But the rule is set today: in Chad, the barrel and its data will be born together.
