More energy, less footprint. Gas-solar hybrid, water put to use, zero routine flaring — sustainability built in by design.

The conviction · Sustainability

Decarbonising the chain without giving up the barrel.

Flaring avoided, gas-solar hybridisation of sites, produced water reinjected: every barrel produced with a smaller footprint is worth more — for the country as much as for the investor.

Decarbonising without giving up the barrel

EnerTchad’s GreenTech is not an electricity trading business: it is the tool that makes our operations cleaner and cheaper. Hybridising associated gas and solar on every site, putting produced water to use, and targeting the end of routine flaring — every green kilowatt saves a litre of diesel and a tonne of CO₂.

Use cases · Sustainability

From the real problem to the EnerTchad response

Five concrete situations from Chad’s oil sector, and how EnerTchad intends to answer them — as targets, at the pace of the stages.

  1. Case 01

    Challenge

    Routine flaring

Associated gas is burned: a wasted resource, a damaged climate.

    EnerTchad response

Capture and use, hybrid solar-gas site energy.

    Target

    End of routine flaring targeted

  2. Case 02

    Challenge

    Produced water as a liability

The water brought up with the crude is a cost and a risk.

    EnerTchad response

Treatment, reinjection and use — zero discharge objective.

    Target

    A decarbonised water cycle

  3. Case 03

    Challenge

    A transition to prove

The oil chain must demonstrate its low-carbon trajectory.

    EnerTchad response

Energy efficiency, MRV measurement, documented reduction.

    Target

    A measured low-carbon trajectory

  4. Case 04

    Challenge

    Costly diesel on remote sites

Diesel generators weigh on the costs and the footprint of the sites.

    EnerTchad response

Solar-gas hybridisation, storage and energy demand management.

    Target

Diesel reduced · decarbonised site energy

  5. Case 05

    Challenge

    Biodiversity under pressure

Operations sit alongside sensitive areas — wildlife, parks, fragile habitats.

    EnerTchad response

Impact studies, avoidance and ecological restoration plans.

    Target

    Footprint controlled · heritage preserved

GreenTech · HSE-Q

HSE-Q & compliance

Safety comes before production: health, safety, environment and quality (HSE-Q) and the compliance framework EnerTchad is targeting.

  • Safety comes before production. Before the first barrel, EnerTchad builds its HSE-Q culture: a stop-work authority granted to everyone, an ALARP logic (risk as low as reasonably practicable) and targeted alignment with the major international frameworks. (target bedrock · certification targe
  • Safety, the licence to operate. In oil, HSE is not an annex: it is the condition of the barrel. EnerTchad models its target arrangements on the industry’s international standards (IOGP), adapted to Chadian terrain — six disciplines that will apply on every site, from well to pump.
  • Named life-saving rules, the same for everyone. The STOP right protects when danger is already there. Life-saving rules exist so it never gets that far. Inspired by the IOGP reference set — the industry pooled them because contractors do most of the field work — they are few, displayed, and non-negotiable.
  • Learning before the accident, not after.A near-miss is an accident that gave a warning. A learning organisation treats it as free ore — provided that reporting it costs nothing to the person who saw it.

GreenTech · Impact

Impact & local rent

A national resource serving the country: territorial impact, produced-water management and concrete benefits for Chadian communities.

  • The oil rent that stays in the country. Our responsible-operator model rests on redistributing value to the host territories: local content, regional employment, training and infrastructure shared with neighbouring communities. An environmental, social and governance approach built into operations.

GreenTech · Transition

Energy transition

Decarbonising our operations from the start: gas-solar site hybridisation, an end to routine flaring targeted, and hydrogen under study.

  • A purely oil company, decarbonising its own operations.EnerTchad is an integrated oil company — renewables are not a business line, but a means. Our Sustainability (GreenTech) pole mobilises solar, associated gas and hybrids to power our sites, lower the carbon intensity of the oil chain and honour our ESG commitm
  • Decarbonising the chain, barrel by barrel.GreenTech aims to shrink the footprint of every barrel produced and distributed — through clean site power, gas recovery and frugality. Each card details the lever. (ambition · company in formation)

GreenTech · Heritage

Wildlife & heritage

Producing without mortgaging the future: biodiversity, Zakouma’s wildlife and UNESCO sites, built into EnerTchad’s environmental footprint.

  • The Chad we protect. Our activity unfolds across one of the richest — and most fragile — territories of the Sahel. Saharan antelopes on the brink of extinction, desert cats, World Heritage sites: honouring this nature is an integral part of our environmental commitment. A responsi
  • Two Chadian wonders.Eighteen interconnected lakes in the hyper-arid Sahara, fed by a fossil aquifer — a hydrological phenomenon unique in the world, with blue, green and red waters, in the heart of Ennedi-Borkou.
  • Protect before, during, after: the three-phase ruleProtecting natural heritage cannot be decreed at the end of a project: it is decided before the first shovel, during operations and after the last barrel.
